How to insert image to trace drawing and make a 3d part from sketch (using the image as sketch)? In Inspire
I want to design a lower control arm to optimise it, but I don't have exact dimensions, so I intend to copy the geometry from an image to ensure that the geometry I want to optimise is almost exactly the real one. fin below and example of the image a i want to use

Extraction of a the mass and write in a cell of a table page by tcl
Dear All, I'm working to extract automatically some info form the result model and, I'm writing the data needed in cells of a table page in HW. Basically I had all the info I need, the only missed is the mass on my model. I can plot is using .out file but I'm not abole to read the info from this "one point" graph. Can…

Want to know relevance of "** ERROR RETURN ** FROM CMUMPS INFO(1)= -1 ** INFO(2)= 22"
Hello, When I run a Feko simulation, I sometimes see in the .out file multiple occurrences of the following: ** ERROR RETURN ** FROM CMUMPS INFO(1)= -1 ** INFO(2)= 22 I was wondering if anyone could please provide me with insight on the relevance of these messages. For example, do they indicate there may be something…

Impact fatigue
Hello, I am examining the fatigue that occurs when a thin metal plate hits another metal. I modeled the thin metal plate with shell elements (The shell element properties I use are attached.) and I used M1_Elast metarial card. For simulate this impact motion, I'm making a time-dependent solutions with radioss solver. I…

For a given theta and phi, Feko produces two distinct sets of values that each comprehensively characterizes the Feko-produced electric field in the far field
In CADFEKO, I place two far-field requests: (a) phi = 0 degrees and theta ranges from -180 to 0 degrees in 1-degree increments (b) theta = -90 degrees and phi ranges from -90 to 90 in 1-degree increments. For theta = -90 degrees and phi = 0 degrees, there are then two far-field data sets in the FEKO .out file. One is from…

For time signals, I can't get results from POSTFEKO to agree with those from Feko-extrinsic calculations
In CADFEKO, I simulate certain frequencies. I then analyze results to a time signal in two different ways: (1) I input the time signal in POSTFEKO and view the far-field response. (2) Based on the input to CADFEKO and the results from CADFEKO, I construct a transfer function. Then, I apply this transfer function to the…

Extract node coordinate by TCL
Dear All, I would like to extract the node coordinate of a selected node using tcl. In the past i was using the following: *createmarkpanel nodes 1 "select node" set node1 [ hm_getmark nodes 1 ] set xnode [ hm_getentityvalue NODES $node1creation "x" 0 ] set ynode [ hm_getentityvalue NODES $node1creation "y" 0 ] set znode […

Interpreting far-field E filed due to a time signal specified in POSTFEKO
To convey my concerns, I will present a special case: * I do a FEKO simulation based on a signal with a frequency f. * In POSTFEKO, I then specify a time signal f(f) = sin(2*pi*f*t) * In POSTFEKO, I then view the far field E field and see that it is non-zero beginning at t = 0 s. With this, it is not near zero such that…

Use Corner data stress post processing
What advantages are of using corner data on stress and stain results on hyperview? what is the concept? Using corner data increase around 20% or more of stress result regarding not use it, also seems to be more concentrated on a single node. See attachment images.

Topology optimization of Excavator Bucket Tooth
Respected Forum, I am a student pursuing BTech in Mechanical Engineering in India. Currently, I am working on a project to optimize the Bucket Tooth of an excavator considering a static load condition with a fixed support at one end figure 1 and 2 . I am seeking assistance in Topology optimization of the design where the…

Surface Geometry Manipulation
1. Can a surface be extended with the surface "extend" tool without creating a new surface? The option is available within the "cross extend" tool, but not the "extend" tool. I'm getting a lot of sliver surfaces an would like to avoid the further clean-up step. 2. Is there a way to combine two surfaces into one? The…

Whenever I run Hypermesh batch, I get an error but my code still runs
As the title states, I always get this error: Error: No user profile or template file loaded. My code still ends up running, so I'm not too concerned but it is annoying as it clutters the command terminal space when I view key information.

particle custom property getDelta in calculateForce
Dear guys I have a question about getDelta when using calculateForce. Assuming contact of particle 1 with both particle 2 and 3, and calculateForce goes for 1-2 first, then 1-3. So when calculateForce for particle 1-particle 2, the custom property of particle 1, i.e. m_delta_1, is only the increament from interaction 1-3,…

2 identical cables with very different results
Hello I am trying to simulate cross-talk between 3 wires using FEKO/cables. I am doing this in 2 different ways: (1) I define 3x wire cross-section (single conductor), I define 3x cable instances, one for each wire, all taking same path; (2) I define 3x wire cross-sections (single conductor) but place all them inside a…

Error solver on Simsolid run / how to access to the log file ?
I'm doing a linear structural analysis on Simsolid. The boundary conditions are only 2 sliders on the structure and I've applied pressure on the overall structure. Analysis of the Curved Column
I tried to model the following example question in Roak's Formulas for Stress and Strain book. General equation for the deflection of the load is shown in the Figure 2. 10587755.305 psi is used as the Young's modulus (E). So, the final result should be 7.33e-06 inches which is not the value I got from SimSolid. Attached…
