Is it possible to perform 2D CFD analysis in Simlab ??
Hi everyone, I am working on a motor and have completed the 2D electromagnetic design in SimLab. Now, I need to perform a thermal analysis to identify internal hotspots and verify the effectiveness of my water cooling. My strategy is to start with a 2D workflow for fast iterations before moving to a full 3D model. I have…

CFL number in Post-processing
HI everyone, I want to investigate the effect of timestep size based on CFL number (from 0.5 - 10). May i know where can i get the value of CFL during post processing? I only found "CFL timeInc" in the log file but i dont think this is the CFL value. I am expecting to see average, min and max CFL.

How to define the Aspect Ratio for a non-spherical drag model in CFD-DEM.
I learned from the sieve_base case in Tutorial 6A — Particle Separation in a Harvester, that defining a non-spherical drag model requires defining the Aspect Ratio. However, I am now encountering particles where the length, width, and height are all different, such as elliptical disk-shaped particles or irregular…

Split faces of a 3D Mesh - SimLab v2025.1
Hello! I need to carried out a CFD simulation and I'm using SimLab v2025.1. I've imported the mesh in the program, but I've a problem with the application of the boundary condition. For convenience, I created a very simple model (Cavity), which has the same problem. It is a simple box (screenshot), the inlet face is the…

Is it not possible to show wall shear stress results when running laminar flow in HyperMesh CFD?
I am running a internal pipe flow simulation in HyperMesh CFD 2025 with the Acusolve solver. My flow is laminar, but then I cannot show wall shear stress results in post processing which I want. I can only see it when I use a turbulence model.

Fluidized Bed Two-Way Coupling Simulation: Particle Explosion
Description: I am currently working on a simulation of a fluidized bed with paddle stirring. I am encountering an issue where the calculation only works when the medium is air and the inlet velocity is less than or equal to 17 m/s. If these conditions are not met—for example, if a fluid with higher density is used or the…

How to mirror the CFD results with Hyperworks CFD
Dear Community, I would like to ask for a support how to mirror the Acusolve CFD results. I have a half model of an aircraft and I would like to make a nice full aircraft plots without needing to re-run the model with mirrored geometry. Unfortunately mirroring results option does not seem to exist in Hyperworks CFD. thanks…
