    Hi Adachi-san,

Regarding the typeC rolling friction this model takes the force calculated from the base contact model (for example Hertz-Mindlin) and uses this force to calculate rolling friction.

The base model will calculate the undamped force and also a damping component of the force.  To determine the motion of the particles the undamped force + damped component is used.  The reported force, which is the true force experienced by the particle, is the undamped force.

The original paper on which the typeC model is based doesn't specify if it's damped or undamped force, however as the undamped force is the true force experienced by the particles this was set as default.

Tangential rotation only would only apply rolling friction in the axis shown below:

Any spinning along the normal axis would not have a rolling resistance applied if 'tangential rotation only' was selected.

    Regards

    Stephen

    Thank you for your response.
It was very easy to understand.
