How to use your Student Edition License

Question

Please, is there someone who can help me with a license issue? This is my first time installing HyperWorks products.

I followed the recommended steps:

* I downloaded hwDesktop2025.1_win64.exe and installed it, then activated the license using the activation key generated on my Altair One account.
* I downloaded hwsolvers2025.1_win64.exe and installed only HyperLife, Radioss, and OptiStruct.

When I try to run a simulation using an example file provided by Altair, I get a license error, and I haven’t been able to fix it.

I would really appreciate your help.

Please ensure that you follow Step 3 and 4 to install and activate the software using your student license key - https://community.altair.com/discussion/34207/instructions-to-access-the-free-altair-student-edition-now-in-altair-one#latest.

Also check that your device meets the minimum system requirements as mentioned here - https://community.altair.com/discussion/39807/altair-hyperworks-hardware-and-system-requirements

Pls note if you are using the free Student Edition - It is a standalone license tied to one physical machine and does not support use on virtual machines.
