Can't activate student license and cant deactivate license because its not found

Hi,

When I try to activate my student license, I get the the Error, "License was already activated using a different HostID.

Then, when I try to deactivate it and activate it again, it says my License is not found

I was using the license last year on this same device, but I had to reset my laptop. Can anyone help?

The error "License was already activated using different HostIDs" means that the student edition license key has already been used on another computer or hardware setup. Normally, we would deactivate the existing license so you can reactivate it using the same key. However, I don’t see a student edition license key generated with your user email in Altair one. You need to follow the steps (step 2 onwards) here exactly in order to generate the license key and use the student edition -

You should be able to see your license key by logging into Altair One, going to the Marketplace, checking the Student Edition License bundle, clicking on the Student Edition License card, and then checking the Licensing tab.
