Best way to parametrize electric motor?

Hello,

I am designing an electric motor and I am looking for the best solution to parametrize my model in order to study the effect of several geometrical lengths in my design. At the moment I am working with SolidWorks, but SimLab does not allow me to change its geometry in a parametric way. Therefore, every time I want to change something, I must create a new SolidWorks model and reset all the settings for the simulation manually (I tried to do it with Python, but I need the faceIDs to do so, and they change every time that the geometry of the motor changes).

Does any of you know a better to run parametric electromagnetic simulations? Without losing too much time for the geometry re-creation and re-setting of the simulation?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

I see that in all the videos every component has been modelled just through a sketch but in my case I have a very complicated 3D geometry to model that would be hard to directly represent through several sketches. Is it possible to assemble several components in SimLab without needing to everything directly in the right positions?

Yes, its possible to assemble the components in SimLab together. Refer to SimLab learning center or SimLab help page to understand possibilities that can match with your case.

As I suggested, please open a support ticket/case. Its difficult to answer the question/ help you with instruction to match with your case of assembling or parameterizing without looking into complex geometry.

Could you kindly share a course in the learning center where an assembly in SimLab is done? In the ones you sent in the previous answer I can only find sketches, but no components assembly.
