Running SimLab on HPC without GUI

Hello,

I'm trying to use SimLab on a HPC, but I'm not sure how to run a simulation via command prompt without the GUI. I'm able to set up the case, it's just a matter of calculating.

I'd like to run simulations using SimLab by itself (using AcuSolve), as well as SimLab coupled with EDEM. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hi,

Do you want to run SimLab or AcuSolve? If you have the model set up and don't want to do any further steps in SimLab, than you only need to run AcuSolve. Here you can find the commands:

    https://2025.help.altair.com/2025/hwcfdsolvers/acusolve/topics/acusolve/training_manual/run_acusolve_on_linux_servers_r.htm?zoom_highlight=run

You can also find how to run with EDEM coupling

    Kind regards,

    Thank you for your response.

I've tried running it (on Windows for now) using the Acusolve input file generated by SimLab, but I'm getting, "ERROR: unable to open file SIMLAB.DIR/"

I've attached the log file with the errors.

    Kind regards,

    Ben.

    Hi Ben,

When running AcuSolve you need to make sure you have the solver deck (.inp) and the folder called SIMLAB.dir. Both of them have to be in the same folder. If you have the folder there and still have the error. Please try to export it again, it might have done it incorrectly. Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Marc

    Hello,

The .inp file and SIMLAB.DIR are in the same folder, and I've tried exporting it again, but I'm getting the same error.

I've been exporting the solver input from SimLab running on Linux, and trying to run it on Windows. Could that be the source of the problem?

    Thanks,

    Ben

    Hi,

Can you verify what is inside your SIMLAB.dir folder? Sometimes in linux when zipping/unsippping it creates more folders. Make sure that your SIMLAB.dir doesn't contain any other SIMALB.dir folder, but rather the all the files like crd files and so. Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Marc

    Hello,

There's no folders inside, just crd, ebc and cnn files.

    Thanks,

    Ben

    Hello,

Can you share the .inp and simlab dir folder as a zip file? Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Marc

If you cannot share the SIMLAB.DIR and .inp, please put a screenshot of the directory where the .inp file is there.
A second screenshot of the content of SIMLAB.DIR is needed

It seems that there is some issue with directory/file structure.
