Error 1000
Hello,
I have to do simulation and optimisation of a Sandwich structure with carbon fibre laminate face sheets and aluminium honeycomb core. In Simulation a 3 point bednding test as well as a shear Test has to be conducted and I have following problems regarding it.
1) Solid-Shell Connection: I read in one the replies on this forum that in order to get the connection between solid(core) and shell(laminate plies)it is good to generate faces on solid through Tools->Faces and give the faces a property of PSHELL with a Thickness of .001. I have done the same and wanted to check if the model is correct so applied some random value of force on the uppermost laminate. Unfortunately I m getting an error „Error 1000*** in the input data:incorrect data in the field#3.” Could you please tell me how to remove it, secondly it i have Modelled it correct.
Thanks
With Regards
Abhinav

Hallo Prakash,
I tried creating a new element like you advised with drag. I did get the element created however it creates two elements. I have given the settings as -2.5mm distance, drag 1. Even after equivalence it doesnt work. I am still having an unwanted elemnt, even if i try to delete , it deletes both the elements since it takes it as a whole one element

Hi Abhinav,
Go to 2D panel and you can use Drag nodes/elements to create elements, but make sure you do this in glass fiber component.
Manufacturing ply thickness is ignored in freesize and whatever PLYMAN/TAMNF you provide will be carried to size optimization phase.
You can provide different manufacturing ply thickness by editing the PLY>> TMANUF>>VALUE
