Student licence issue - HyperMesh
Hi,
I got my licence and followed the steps as in: https://web.altair.com/altair-student-edition#license-activation
But it didn't work, so I tried troubleshooting as in: https://community.altair.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=b00d06af97ddde10da583b47f053af5d
It still doesn't work.
I asked here (https://community.altair.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=921aa7f397a41ed4da583b47f053af65), with no response, so I'm posting again.

You need to first uninstall and make sure all temporary files are deleted, as described here -
Then please download the 2024.1 HW from the marketplace again and run the 2024.1 installer as administrator,
Make sure you install the software in a location that does not have any special characters or spaces in its name and path, C program files as suggested by default is the best location,
Make sure you have full permissions to the location you are installing
Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the product in your machine with the same license key.
Follow step 4 exactly as described here -
You can get back here with a screenshot of the tool, or any error that pops up after following above steps exactly.

This is the 3rd time I do this, but I did anyway, as you suggested.
I uninstalled HM, and deleted all setting files as per your post. Rebooted the computer.
Re-downloaded HM from the marketplace, re-installed as administrator (didn't change installation folder or any setting during installation, skipped the license step), ran the almutil_gui.exe as administrator, activated the code.
I open HM as administrator and it still does not work, I can't open files and the menu is limited. I attached the license log so you can check any errors. Please suggest something different, or put me through the next support level.

Windows 10, as per picture.
There are multiple errors in the log file:
[11/20/24 10:02:26] System Error: No Auth Token in Managed Licensing config
[11/20/24 10:01:51] System Error during checking out: Altair License Manager: License error
[LOCAL] C:\Users\toyoda\AppData\Local.altair_licensing\C22VVKR\licenses\LHXT7-8DDOJ-7BVVV-KYWK9.lic - (Err: 9) Feature not found
My questions:
1) Are all these ok?
2) What about the Environment Variables? Do I have to change something there?
3) Can I install the version I had before (2022)? I'm ok with that, just need a new .dat license file.
Those errors are ok, the activation is complete in the end,
You can set an environment variable with the below name and value and try again and let us know
name: ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH
value: C:\Users\toyoda\AppData\Local.altair_licensing\C22VVKR\licenses\LHXT7-8DDOJ-7BVVV-KYWK9.lic
The previous version of HW student edition will work with this license activation,

please provide a screenshot of your entire screen when you click on HyperMesh 2024.1 from the start menu …
Can you confirm the exe is downloading correctly from marketplace?
Verify file's SHA-256 checksum to check there's no packets being lost.
How to
In a command line, run the command:
For Windows: certutil -hashfile [file location] SHA256
. For example:
certutil -hashfile C:\Users\user1\Downloads\software.zip SHA256
Compare the value returned by the command line with the value from the pop over of the file in the marketplace, it should be b751d47083778bc860cbe605ac0eaadf2e4369569c520aafb4fee5fe12adece0

HI, Your license key is now deactivated here so that you can reactivate, please delete any license in the store as per https://community.altair.com/community?id=community_question&sys_id=b00d06af97ddde10da583b47f053af5d and then reactivate, please attach screenshots of the error you see if it still does not work ...
