Optistruct explicit Rigid body velocity

Hi Everyone,

I just found out that Optistruct now have a possibility to run explicit Simulation like this Tutorial (OS-T: 7000 Phone Drop Test Analysis) (https://2021.help.altair.com/2021/hwsolvers/os/topics/solvers/os/phone_drop_test_analysis_tutorial_r.htm#reference_vgr_whz_jkb)

I already done the tutorial and now i want to try something slightly different. I would like to constrained the phone in all DOF, an let the rigid wall (Rigid body in case the rigid component not a planar surface) fall with a predefined velocity in a curve.

I try the same way with TIC(V) like in the example but it still not working. I try to define Rigid body (RBE2) and it also still not working.

Can somebody help me how to assign the velocity to the rigid body?

Thank you in advance

Best regards,

    Hi Greiffith
Then you need to define TLOAD1 and create a table for input of the desired motion
    TIC(V) are for initial conditions!
So, in your case "fall with a predefined velocity in a curve" I would have started with prescribed displacement.

Though, I would question whether this is really what you want? If you 'prescribe' the falling velocity of the object then the phone will not stop the prescribed motion, actually, a TIC just above the phone is more useful?
