"Image processing extension"
Hello,
On the http://www.myexperiment.org/workflows/1229 I have noticed that Mr. Simon Fisher is working with some image processing operators.
Is the extension somewhere available?
Actually, I am starting to work on a similar thing. If you have some code and concept it might be interesting to follow it for me rather to design my own most probably incompatible with your.

Hi,
on the very bottom of the page, I see a section called "Attachments" containing this link:
http://www.e-lico.eu/sites/all/public/trunk/rapidminer-ImageMining-1.0.jar
If you can't see it, we may need to update some access rights. Could you please tell me whether it is there?
Cheers,
Simon

Ok, an update. Apparently, Haddock, you managed to download the jar file, probably using the link I posted, right?
I just checked the web site again, and the "Attachment" section is in fact invisible to public users, which is particularly weird since the link itself seems to be working. I sent an email to the administrator, hopefully it will become visible soon.
Cheers,
Simon

Hi,
sorry for digging the old topic. We just wanted to have a look at the extension. I downloaded the jar file and placed it in the plugins folder. But only three new operators (List Images, Upload Image, Visualize Images) appear inside the "e-LICO Image Mining" group. So I cannot test the myExperiment example process due to missing operators. Did I miss any prerequisites? Is this extension still compatible with the current RapidMiner version? Any hints appreciated.
Regards
Matthias

Hi,
that probably means the Web server is down. This plugin is Web service based. You can also look at this extension: http://spl.utko.feec.vutbr.cz/en/component/content/article/46-image-processing-extension-for-rapidminer-5.
Best,
Simon

you are right. The image processing extension was developed within the EU-project e-Lico, and it is available for download. However, we did not announce it publicly yet, and we did not put it on our update server. The reason is the fact that the extension uses a Web service, and we are not sure how much load it can handle :-)
You can install it manually using this link:

I assume that your extension will not use a Web service, so your approach will be entirely different (and incompatible, of course). Anyway, please let us know about your progress :-)
Cheers,
Simon
