PSIM 2026.1 Student Edition – Unable to Create New Schematic / PSIM Features Missing from License Fi

Hello,

I am having a licensing issue with PSIM 2026.1 Student Edition.

I successfully obtained and activated my Student Edition license using the Altair License Utility.

My current setup is:

* PSIM version: PSIM 2026.1
* License Store: System
* The .lic file was successfully created in C:\ProgramData\altair\licenses
* ALTAIR_LICENSE_PATH points to the generated .lic file.
* ALM_HHWU is set to F.
* PSIM License Setup shows “This computer is authorized.”
* Motor Drive is selected under Features.

PSIM itself launches successfully. However, when I select File → New to create a new schematic, nothing happens. I have also received the following error:

“Connection to the license server is lost. The application will shut down.”

I checked the generated .lic file in a text editor and searched for “PSIM”, but there are no PSIM-related entries in the license file.

Could you please check whether the Student Edition license issued to my account contains the required PSIM 2026.1 features/entitlements?

If the PSIM features are missing, could you please reset or reissue the Student Edition license with the appropriate PSIM entitlement?

Your account is verified for student edition use.

Your previous license key activation is now deactivated in Altair one, you can now reactivate the student license with the same license key.

Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –

I would like to completely reset my current Student Edition license activation and reactivate it from scratch.

Could you please deactivate/reset the current activation of my Student Edition license in Altair One?

After the reset, I will delete the existing .lic file from the local license store and reactivate the license using the same Student Edition activation key.

I am doing this because PSIM 2026.1 opens, but the PSIM features are not being properly recognized and New Schematic does not work.

Could you also please verify that the reactivated Student Edition license contains the required PSIM entitlement/features?
