Request to Reset PSIM Student License Activation - Different HostID Error

Question

Hello Altair Support Team,

I am using PSIM 2026 Student Edition. I previously activated my student license on my old computer. After changing my computer, I cannot activate PSIM on my new computer.

I no longer have access to my old computer, so I cannot deactivate the license manually.

During Altair License Server 2026.0 installation, I receive this error:

“This license was already activated using different HostIDs.”

I also receive these PSIM license errors:

* Error Code 15: Unable to connect to license server
* Error Code -40: Requested feature name was not found in licenses
* Feature: PSIMPowerSupply / PSIMPowerSupplyFeature

I reinstalled PSIM and Altair License Manager, but the issue continues. Could you please reset/deactivate the old activation or provide a new student license activation so I can use PSIM Student Edition on my new computer?

Your license key has been deactivated in Altair One, and you can now reactivate your student license using the same key.

Kindly note, The Altair Free Student Edition license is valid for use on only one device, it cannot be shared or activated on multiple machines at the same time AND Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –
