What is Altair AI Studio?
Altair AI Studio (formerly RapidMiner) is a drag-and-drop data science platform that empowers FIRST Robotics teams to make smarter, faster, data-driven decisions—no coding needed. From scouting to strategy, AI Studio helps you clean and analyze data, visualize patterns, and build workflows to identify the best alliance partners.
Whether you're pulling stats from The Blue Alliance, using your own scouting data, or integrating multiple datasets, AI Studio gives you the tools to go from spreadsheet chaos to strategic clarity.

Why should I use Altair AI Studio?
FIRST matches, scouting, and alliance selection all move quickly. With limited time to analyze data, AI Studio helps your team:
- Identify top-performing alliance partners based on match data.
- Analyze Blue Alliance stats in near real-time.
- Cluster and classify teams into useful roles (scorer, defender, utility).
- Visualize your team's performance trends across matches.
- Automate scouting analysis for smarter, faster decisions.
It's accessible, fast, and powerful—and just like our other tools, it's completely free for FIRST teams.
How do I use Altair AI Studio?
Altair AI Studio is as simple as 1, 2, 3.
Each step includes guided workflows to help your team turn scouting data into strategic advantage—there's no programming required, you can program your own functions with Python if you want...
For 2-5, follow along with the downloadable modules below (contains video walkthrough, a written manual, .rmp files, Excel files, datasets/API process):
1. Get Familiar with the AI Studio Interface: Start by exploring the GUI and workflow builder. Use the interactive tutorial series below to learn the basics of drag-and-drop modeling, data flow, and key tools in AI Studio.
