OptiStruct is not installed currently.

Hello everyone,

I'm using Altair Hyperworks (Hypermesh - OptiStruct 2022.3) student version for my study. The software was running without problem, when I was creating my own FEM Model.

The problem is there, when I was in "Optimization" —> "OptiStruct".

I have to analyse my model with OptiStruct in order to view it later in HyperMesh. So what I need to do first, is to save my model file (which is currently saved in .hm format), in .h3d format.

But when I clicked on "save as" and click "save", there's no .fem files generated in my chosen directory. This is my 1st problem.

2nd problem. I clicked "OptiStruct" anyway, just in order to see whether any calculation will running afterwards. But on the corner down left side, I see a status notification "OptiStruct is not installed currently."

I've researched on this forum for the possible solution, before I post my own. And I found out that the installation has to be done from the master installation file (hw2024.1_win64). So I ran the installation from this .exe file, checked all the stuffs that I need (Hyperworks Desktop + all the solvers, including Optistruct) and at the end the software is installed succesfully with no error.

But the same problem (1st and 2nd Problem) is still exist.

So I think I could install the hwDesktop2022.3.2_hotfix_win64, in case any fixed could be applied. Installation was succesful with no error, but the same problem still exist.

Later, I try to install the hwSolvers2024.1_win64 and hwSolversHelp2024.1_win64 (even though I know, that I've installed OptiStruct from the master installation file, just to see if it works). Installation was succesful, again with no error. Same problems does still exist.

Could anyone assist me how to solve this problem?

I've put all the file in the same folder. I did start the installation from hw2024.1_win64. It has been installed succesfully, which means I don't have to install hwDesktop2022.3_win64 and hwSolvers2024.1_win64 anymore. (because it has been done from the master installation file).

    Hi,

    If you have installed the hwSolvers, then you need to use the export option available in HM to generate the .fem file. see the attached image.
