Nonlinear Excersice - Error 4966

Hi everyone,

I'm recently started to learn Hypermesh and Optistruct from one of my classes.

We are working with the model attached to this message, it's a nonlinear analysis of a suspension element.

When I run this model, I keep getting error 4966, which, according to the documentation, it means that minimum time to solve it's reached.

One solution mentioned in documentation, it's to modify the values of the NLPARAM loadstep, but even if I set it to 1000, I keep getting the same error when I got it to resolve.

If some one could give some advice of what I'm doing wrong, it would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Juan,

I just reviewed your model and it looks to be solved as LGDISP. I changed that and along with that I added NLADAPT and frictional contact by defining PCONT card. Now it runs but then I realized you have used MECHCHECK. If you review the attached h3d file there is some issue with contact definition. you can redefine your contact between the block by taking to and bottom surface (select elements by face option while creating sets) instead of whole component. Also use DESCRETE=S2S and TRACK=CONSLI in such scenario.

You can refer the below article for NL convergence issues.
