Overview

One of the functions of the brakes group is to check squeal in brakes through simulation. This involves 2 steps. Running a non linear static analysis to generate the friction matrix followed complex Eigen value analysis to generate the modes. Usually the modes would have a high negative damping coefficient. This tool facilitates the designers themselves to do their own simulation using a customized HyperMesh environment. The designer starts with a mesh that is usually outsourced. Currently works with Nastran, but easily portable to Radioss when we start supporting this solution to automatically feed the friction matrix to the complex eigen value solution.
