Shell Thickness Output in SimLab
Dear All,
I'd like to calculate and output the thinning of SHELL elements during a Structural simulation in SimLab.
In HyperMesh (Optistruct) this is done using the output card THICKNESS (https://2021.help.altair.com/2021.1/hwsolvers/os/topics/solvers/os/thickness_io_r.htm)
Is it possible to do it in SimLab too?
Many thanks,
Andrea

Hi,
this THICKNESS card is not targetted for thinning of the part during the analysis. It is targeted for Optimization purposes (parametric and free-size), where the design variable is the thickness of the part/elements.
There used to be a THIN output for thinning, but this was an old integration to Radioss run, if I recall correctly, and this is not used anymore.
i take it back...thickness variation is indeed available for LGDISP run, requesting THICKNESS output.
In SimLab you could add it as 'Text Data'
