constant velocity.

I want to do a penetration test for a component. I modeled the nail as 3D and created a slide contact with the component. I need to penetrate the nail with a consant velocity of 80 mm/s. Which card should i use for it? Is it better to do in optisctruct or radioss.

Hi,
Model files are available in the link.
You can use RADIOSS to model the same.

Since you are using wood as the material, you may have to consider a different material LAW for that instead of SPH

no im using steel (nail) penetrating into aluminium

no im using steel (nail) penetrating into aluminium
OK, so LAW2 or LAW 36 should work.

HI,
I am able to import with out any issues.
Do you see any errors, warning messages when you are importing the file?
Make sure you are in RADIOSS user profile.

I have no errors and its in Radioss format. Ive attached the screenshot
Radioss is good for highly non linear problems. You can refer Radioss online help tutorials.
