Altair EmployeeI want to do a penetration test for a component. I modeled the nail as 3D and created a slide contact with the component. I need to penetrate the nail with a consant velocity of 80 mm/s. Which card should i use for it? Is it better to do in optisctruct or radioss.

yes its just penetrating the nail into a box with constant velocity.

Since you are using wood as the material, you may have to consider a different material LAW for that instead of SPH

no im using steel (nail) penetrating into aluminium

OK, so LAW2 or LAW 36 should work.

Make sure you are in RADIOSS user profile.

Radioss is good for highly non linear problems. You can refer Radioss online help tutorials.
