Implementing nonlinear elastic spring element using type13 or type8

I am running a drop test of the landing gear model which consists of an arm, damper, and tire.

I am using a type13 spring element to model a damper for the analysis and would like to use the nonlinear elastic function.

According to the manual, using the function curve I can use a nonlinear elastic spring by activating H1 as 8.

However, I only found this only (H1=8) for type4 spring and not type13 spring nor type8 spring as can be seen from the picture.

How can I implement a nonlinear elastic spring using a force and displacement curve?

Hi, yes, the specific behaviour of H=8 is only available with Type 4 Spring, this is correct, and the manual states this too: Why do you need to use H=8 specifically? If you must use this, then you may use spring type 4 for your axial behaviour, but you must leave another spring (Type 13) coincident to constrain the other DOF

all other 'H' types (H =0-7) are also nonlinear elastic springs with force/displacement input though, they just have different hardening behaviours. The simplest input is with H=0, the spring in this case will just follow the input curves for load/unload

Thank you for your reply. I thought when implementing stiffness vs displacement curve H=8 should be used. Perfect, I can just use H=0 in that case!
