Is there any way to generate a Nyquist plot in PSIM for any converter topology? This feature is available in Smart Control, but it's only applicable to some fixed topologies.

    Hello,

    I assume you'd like to analyze the stability of DC-DC converter / Inverter and you need to check whether the amplitude and phase conditions are met.

    For that please refer to PSIM simualtion called "AC SWEEP".

    It allows to inject predefined time domain sine signal into your DC-DC systems and then observe the stability of your circuit. There is no topoogy limitation in PSIM.

    Thank you for the info. I'm aware of AC sweep, but the result is plotted in a Bode plot, which doesn't work well for non-minimum phase systems (it's hard to assess stability using the Bode for this type of system). The reason I want a Nyquist plot is so that I can easily check the stability of any systems, including non-minimum phase systems.

    1. The first part is getting the AC sweep of your open loop system, essentially the bode plot.
    2. The second part involves SmartCtrl, an Altair Partner tool that has direct linkage with PSIM.     Thanks! I didn't realize it could work with any topology by importing Bode plots into SmartCtrl. I'll look into it.
