I know it can use RBE2 to let the part to be rigid.

But if today I want this component to be rigid.

Can I let the part to be rigid and not use the MPC method

I also have a question. My ram is 16GB and I use it to run, it will have the error.

 *** ERROR # 3401 ***
 System does not have enough memory available for MUMPS solver. MUMPS needs
 addtional 64328 MB. Please use a computer with bigger physical RAM.

Can I use less ram to run? I set the-maxlen

and it also failed

    Hi

    did you use RBODY keyword?

    why did you have to change solver type to MUMPS?

    -maxlen is to limit memory for solver usage, it cannot increase your ram to 64G

    @tinh Thanks to your apply.

    I have tried RBODY, my process is set>set element, Creat>rigid body>Elements set. It will error and I didn't set any property and material of my part.

    At the second problem of the MUMPS because at this time my solution method is Non-linear quasi-static

    and I have also tried maxlen and I also set the PARAM>HASHASSM>yes, but it still error.

    You have to assign property and material for those elements

    @tinh Thanks to your apply

    But I assign them prperty and material it still error

    @tinh I finally

    constrained hole in RBE2

    So why don't you let it deformable and constraint all its nodes by RBE2?

    @tinh

    Because I want it to be rigid body

    So I just constraint it's bolt hole for RBE2.

    please constraint all its nodes by rbe2 and rerun

    But what is the use-case?

    This may not give proper results.

    @tinh Thanks for your reply. I will try it.

    @Prakash Pagadala I use the part to contact with other part.

    And one part is the rigid other is elastic material.

    And the rigid part have the 4 bolt hole, I just give the 4 bolt RBE2.

    My analysis at run it doen't have error, but it doesn't run finish.

    So I need to use the @tinh method to constrain all nodes to be RBE2 to rerun?

    If I choose 3 parts it will show the error and just only a part will have 128937 nodes.

    Here I have  a model and how should I constrain this 2 part to be rigid.

    After that, can I use the high young's modulus to define the rigid body in non-linear quasi-static analysis?

    If my material original young's modulus is 210 GPa, I modify to 210 E^15 Pa.

    Really thanks.
