Input C, D, E and F Points for L section beam

How do you calculate C, D, E and F points for Beam Element Subjected to Bending Force (L section)?

I tried for rectangular shaped beams, I got the results. But for L section beam, I am not getting the results. The dimensions are mentioned in the picture. If anyone can clear the doubt, it will be helpful?

I did get the results after solving. Does Element stresses CBAR/CBEAM Long Stress SAD and SAF are zero in this case? Or they would have certain values because I got the stress results at all the points at C, D, E and F. Also the top part of beam is in tension and bottom part in compression, but the results are different in each case but with a negative sign in compression case. I have a doubt regarding this tension and compression results as well because in case of rectangular beams we get results of tension and compression results as same only with a negative sign in case of compression.

So does L section will have different values at tension and compression?

I have mentioned results at SAC, SAE and SAD, please let me know if these results are valid?

These points, C, D, E and F are the stress evaluation points and you can choose whatever you want, actually.

The idea is to define the y and z coordinates of your section where you want to compute your stresses. Usually those would be in the extreme portions of your section.

If you use a PBARL/PBEAML section instead of a traditional PBAR/PBEAM, it will already give you these points in the figure, automatically. (1,2,3....8)

In properties I used PBEAML instead of PBEAM, but I didn't create a beam of standard L section using Hyperbeam and in similar manner I didn't give beamsection property in properties since I took PBEAML, but the solver is failed. So I am not getting the results.

Incorrect field 2: expected blank or numeric value > 0.0.

So, do I have to go to 1D > Hyperbeam > create a standard L section or not?

In attachment the beamsection is blank as I didn't create any L section beam using 1D > Hyperbeam

Since I have directly taken PBEAML.

So what shall I do now?

For PBEAML you could just select the section type and enter the dimensions of the section. You will need the beam section only if you want to visualize the section in your screen.
