How to resolve the mesh motion distortion error in Acusolve?

Hi Good Day!

I am performing the moving mesh using the ideal gas compression tutorial. After Updating the solution ,I encounter a mesh distortion error after some time steps . I’ve experimented with different element sizes, both coarse and fine, but the issue persists.

Is there a recommended way to resolve this error?

Thanks & Regards,
Sivaprakash V

It depends on what is the behavior. If you output fairly frequently, then you can use Post-Processing to look into what the mesh is doing. Are nodes moving that should not be moving? Are nodes not moving that should be moving? Is the mesh compressing so much that the distortion eventually cannot be handled? Etc. If you can review the behavior, you may be able to determine where/when/why the distortion occurs. Feel free to add images/animations showing the behavior.

    Hi ,

    Thanks for your reply.

Actually, I performing the ideal gas compression of Cylinder and piston assembly. I assigned all the Boundary conditions similar to the tutorial.

My total mesh displacement is 16 mm from BDC to TDC

But After updating the solution, The solver stopped and show post processing window with results. It solved only 10 to 15 times of 360 time step.

The total mesh displacement after the solution is 0.5mm only.

Actually, I am out of my workplace and I will share image .

My cylinder fluid volume is similar to the tutorial.

    Thanks & Regards,

You could share the actual model database (SimLab / HyperMesh CFD) also, if you like.
