The purpose of this article is to provide examples models that help introduce Lagrangian, Eulerian, ALE, and CEL modelling techniques that can be used in Radioss for Fluid Structure Interaction.

The attached zip file contains models and results of the simulation of a high explosive charge detonating against a steel plate. The different formulations used are :

  1. Lagrange formulation
  2. Euler formulation
  3. ALE formulation
  4. CEL formulation

A session file (.mvw) is provided to compare all four models using HyperView.

What is wrong with the Lagrangian model? It stops with error: **ERROR : TIME STEP LESS OR EQUAL DTMIN FOR SOLID ELEMENT
