How to imprint a surface mesh from a pressed assembly
I have a surface mesh on a component that is pressed against another surface. I would like to avoid creating contacts between these two parts and want the mesh to be imprinted onto the unmeshed surface. When I try this with imprint it cannot fulfill my aim as the unmeshed geometry is a CAD file. What are some workarounds…

How to automatically improve elements failing min size criteria
I have generated my 2D tetra shell mesh which is of relatively good quality in terms of skew, aspect ratio and jacobian. I have 99 elements that would not meet my minimum size requirements and have also selected their adjacent elements. Below is just a few of them I get an error by rebuild that a size (0.16) conflicts with…

Is there a route to dynamically update set definitions
I use sets to define groups of nodes & elements for loads, constraints, output sets etc. is there a mechanism to dynamically update these prior to a run, for example all elements with a particular property/material, or entities within a component. As I develop my model I want to spend less time checking / defining sets.

How to check active reflection coefficient for all ports individually for the array antenna?
Hi, I have a four-port array antenna, where I used the active port excitation method using the "Sparameter tab", now my confusion is what are the actual active reflection coefficients in POSTFEKO? Does it refer to voltage source 1,2,3,4? Or, the active reflection coefficient results should be found under the S parameter…

CFL number in Post-processing
HI everyone, I want to investigate the effect of timestep size based on CFL number (from 0.5 - 10). May i know where can i get the value of CFL during post processing? I only found "CFL timeInc" in the log file but i dont think this is the CFL value. I am expecting to see average, min and max CFL.

Why do the tracks 'explode' at the beginning of my MotionView vehicle simulation?
Hi, I am trying to run a simulation in MotionView for a tracked vehicle towing another tracked vehicle. When I solve the run, however, the tracks on both vehicles seem to 'explode' (please see the attached short video). Note that this problem occurs when simulating a single vehicle, too. I am running a Static + Transient…

How can I export this as step file so that the patches are visible in my step file?[FEKO V.2023.1]
Hello, I am trying to export this model as step file, but every time I export this, no patches are visible in my step file. Its a conformal patch array, four of the copper patches are totally invisible when I am exporting it into the step file. I am attaching here both the .cfx and step file , please help me out.

MotionView's track builder for a rigid contact soil interaction doesn't keep meshing from HyperMesh.
Hi, I am trying to simulate a tracked vehicle on a rigid (non-deformable) road in MotionView. I have set up my vehicle using the process given in the Tracked Vehicle Modeling tutorial (link: Tracked Vehicle Modeling) but diverge from the tutorial at the 'Soil Interaction' step (step 3.10). Here, I use the 'Rigid Contact'…

How can add wire probe at the center of the patch transmission line here?[Feko v 2023.1]
Here in this model, I have two problems How to add a wire probe along the vertical line center of the patch? I can't create the line above the patch due to a coordinate problem. How to remove the air gap coming inside the patch when I used "project" tab to bend above the substrate? you can see one corner of the patch has…

POWER CALCULATION FOR array antenna(V 2023.1)
Hello I am using an "active port" simulation for a 4x1 conformal probe-fed antenna array. My question is: when we select the voltage source for each port (see the screenshot), it is 1 V for each port in my array. Then what is actually the input power of my total array ? For doing the active port simulation, see my other…

EDEM CUDA API:How to specify particle names in an EDEM CUDA file
I have developed an EDEM body force API whose function is to apply force to particles named "FIX". My API code is correct, but I encountered an issue when writing the .cu file—the .cu file fails to recognize the particles named "FIX". I would like to ask how to implement this function in the .cu file? I have attached my…
