Can I neglect certain modes when creating flexible bodies with OptiStruct for multi-body-analysis?

Hi all,

I have a strcture that I use in a MB-Analysis. Therefore I'm employing a Craig-Bampton Condensation with OptiStruct. I noticed however, that there are quite a few modes that are irrelevant for my analysis and as I can't deselect them in the MB-Software I'm using I was wondering if there is a way to omit certain modes in the condensation process itself - does anyone know if and how this could be achieved? What MB software are you using?

I'm using AVL EXCITE Power Unit. The Format of the condensed models is the exb-format.

I ask because MotionView/MotionSolve allows user to deactivate any mode that user thinks should not be included in the MB model.

Sorry, this does not help you if you are using AVL EXCITE.

No problem. I know that this options also exists in other software tools. However, with AVl this doesn't seem to pose a problem, so far I haven't observed single modes oscillating with unreasonable amplitudes in contrast to some other MB software ... Anyway, thanks for your trouble!
