Request for License Reset / HostID Conflict - Student Edition

Hi Altair Support Team,

I am having an issue activating my PSIM Student Edition license.

I registered for a student license using my university email back in October 2025 and activated it on my previous computer. However, that machine has been completely reset/formatted and is no longer in use.

When trying to activate PSIM on my new computer, I encountered the following error:

"Error activating license: This license was already activated using different HostIDs."

Since my old laptop was formatted, I cannot manually deactivate the license from that device.

Could a support representative please assist me in resetting or deactivating the key associated with my registered student account? (I am not posting my License Key here for privacy reasons, but I can provide them via direct message or email when requested).

Your license key has been deactivated in Altair One, and you can now reactivate your student license using the same key.

Kindly note, The Altair Free Student Edition license is valid for use on only one device, it cannot be shared or activated on multiple machines at the same time AND Deactivation and reactivation feature is only if a computer breaks down or reformatted and is only allowed a few times per user preprogrammed into the system.

You can deactivate the license from one machine and reactivate in another by yourself if you have access to both machines as per –
