PSIM Solver 2026 Linux Installation – How do I obtain license file after installing License Manage

I am following the PSIM Solver 2026 Linux Installation Guide:

I would like to install PSIM on Linux. I have already installed PSIM Solver and the Altair License Manager successfully, and I can obtain the Host ID/MAC address using almutil -hostid.

However, I am stuck at the step where the guide asks me to copy the license file (altair_lic.dat) into the licensing directory. The guide does not explain how to obtain this file.

How do I get altair_lic.dat after installing the License Manager? Is it downloaded from Altair One, generated from an Auth Code, or provided by Altair Support?

Also, I already have an active PSIM Student Edition license on another device (in Windows). Will that cause any issues when generating or activating a license for this Linux machine?

License files are purchased / provided by the sales team, a student edition license key in a different computer does not affect your purchased licenses.
