Hello,
I am working on a structural analysis involving a Gasket (Si) on the top and a Subgasket (PEN) on the bottom. Based on the analysis results (attached images), I have a few questions and would appreciate your insights:
- How can I verify if the analysis has been performed correctly and if the results are reliable?
I want to ensure the simulation is accurate and trustworthy. Are there specific checks or validation steps I should follow? - The Subgasket shows different deformation behavior compared to the Gasket.
While the Gasket appears to bulge outward as expected under compression, the Subgasket does not show similar lateral expansion, despite having comparable material properties. What could be the reason for this difference in deformation behavior? Could it be due to boundary conditions, material modeling, or contact settings? - Measuring thickness variation in the Subgasket:
In the contour plot, the central area of the Subgasket shows high strain (red zones), indicating thinning due to compression. Is there a method in HyperView or OptiStruct to measure the thickness at specific points or along a section to quantify this deformation?
The analysis model is attached for reference.
Thank you in advance for your support and guidance!
