How can I specify in Flux 2D that the magnets in a SPMSM are segmented?

    Hello Kehollev,

Thanks for writing to Altair support.
The segmentation of Magnets can be specified using Flux 3D.
I suggest you to choose Flux 3D to represent Magnet Segmentation of PMSM.

    Best Regards,
    Charishma.

Now I use fluxskew, how I segment my magnets in fluxskew?

    Hello Kehellov,

At this moment I dont have an exact example to share with you as reference. But you can refer to examples in Flux supervisor> Flux 3D> BrushlessStepSkewIPMMotor_stepbystep or the examples available in Flux Skew. The procedure will be same. If you still have trouble specifying them, please open a support ticket on the case. We will be happy to help you. Thank you.

    Regards,
    Charishma

I have provisionally built a 3D model in Flux3D with magnet segmentation, but could it be that if I divide the magnet into segments in the axial direction, this will cause a problem to complete the infinity box? I think that the points of two segments are on top of each other and this causes problems. Should there be a mm in between? I'm using a SPMSM engine for clarification.

Another possibility might be that my rotor length and magnet length are not the same (which must be the case). As a result the points at the ends are close together, which altairflux sees as an error?

    kind regards

    Hello again,

I don't think the difference in length cause error completing the infinite box. Dividing the Magnets either Axial or Radial shouldn't be an issue either. You can use check geometry to see any interferences present in the geometry. Also, I suggest you to open support case and share model with us in the ticket( privately) for better support.

    Thank you,
    Charishma.
