For Altair Panopticon, these are the units needed for different types of users and activities:
A Designer user is 10 units - but only when in Edit mode, otherwise 2 units.Â
An Admin user is 2.Â
A viewer is 2.Â
A user who is both Admin and Designer is 10 - but only when in Edit mode, otherwise 2 units. The server as such pulls no units and there is no contractual item price for the server. If a user has created and activated at least 1 alert (any number of alerts) then that counts as a "virtual" viewer and 2 units will remain checked out. For those 2 units, each individual user can have any number of alterts. Scheduled tasks, for example creation of a PDF report version of a dashboard and emailing it automatically, checks out 2 units during the process of executing the scheduled task. Making a request to a REST API endpoint (which requires that you authenticate and have user session with the server) will check out units same as if the user logged in through the web interface.
