OS-HM-T: 3000 Rubber Ring Crush and Slide using Self-Contact

Hallo, I am unable to get the simulation to converge after the rubber hits itself in this torturial. No matter if i increase the convergence limit, the minimum timestep and the amount of iterations it can do… and I feel i have adjusted everything else twice also.

If anyone wants to help, it would be greatly appreciated. Also if someone has gotten it to work the file would be nice :)

You need to check aubcase-2 while viewing the result to get the rotating movement.

    Hi Michael,

I downloaded the input file from the help page (OS-E: 0185 Rubber Ring: Crush and Slide Using Self-Contact) and tried running. Attached is the .out and h3d file of this.

    Thanks

    Hi Rajashri,

I have seen your h3d file, it seems that you get to the same step, where the rubber starts hitting. However, the simulation should not be done there, the top tube should start moving and rotating after the downward movement. But during the downward movement, the model is unable to converge.

I could be misunderstanding something, but i do not think the file you have sent is the full simulation.

    Br Michael.
