Issue with Altair Inspire OptiStruct License in Personal Edition

Hi, I recently downloaded the program and I am experiencing an issue with the OptiStruct license in Altair Inspire Personal Edition and would appreciate any help you can provide.

Specifically, when I try to run a topology optimization, an error message appears indicating that a license for Inspire OptiStruct Solver feature couldn't be found. The message suggests checking the network connection and ensuring a valid license file is available. I am not sure how to fix it. Attached is a screenshot of the error message for clarity.

    I am having the same issue with Inspire 2024.1.1 on a Personal Edition, even if I just do the tutorials. Did you manage to resolve it ?

    I am experiencing the same license issue as you: Unable to find a license for the Inspire OptiStruct Solver feature. The only difference is that my error message states: 'A license for the feature %1 could not be found.' Any ideas?

    Please request for a personal edition again and download the latest exe to bypass this error.

    Hi Rahul_P1, requesting for a new personal edition does not solve the problem. The problem remains the same: When a run is started with run options set to OptiStruct you can follow it in the run folder. The preprocessing is doing fine. But when the OptiStruct should start the run ends with a fatal error. Opening in the run folder the file "optiAnalysis.out" gives the following information:

    My question now is: Do I have to do any handling with any altair_lic.dat file? I just executed the AltairInspirePersonal2024.1.1_win64.exe and that's it. Is there a misunderstanding from my side?

    HI, you dont need a license file for the personal edition, we will notify the development team, Please request and use the free student edition which you are eligible to as a student at university -https://community.altair.com/discussion/34207/instructions-to-access-the-free-altair-student-edition-now-in-altair-one#latest

    Hi Rahul, has this issue been resolved for Inspire Personal? I requested and downloaded and installed the latest version (which however is still 2024.1.1. If I try to run an Optistruct solver I get the same error message (license for Inspire Optistruct Solver feature cannot be found).

    Hi @DDL01 The issue is fixed in 2025.1 yet to be released, but I will send a tool that you can run in the command line to reset the license and make the personal edition work …
