FEKO 2022 Feature Not Found License Error with Confirmed Matching HostID

Hi Altair Community,

I have recently received an Altair Student License and I am having difficulties when attempting to license my installed software. When I attempt to launch any component of FEKO 2022 (e.g. FEKOCAD), I receive the following error:

An error occurred while checking out a license.

Altair License Manager: License error

Feature(s): GlobalZoneAM, HyperWorks, HWFEKOGUI

Error Code: 9

Error Description:

I have installed FEKO on a Windows 10 laptop with the following specifications:

Device type ASUS Zenbook UX534FT Signature Edition
Processor Intel Core i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80GHz 1.99 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with Max-Q Design (4.0 GB)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows Version Windows 10 Pro 21H2 Build 19044.2364 Experience Pack 120.2212.4190.0

I have followed all instructions on the Altair University Student Edition Licensing page (https://altairuniversity.com/altair-student-edition-licensing/) and I have attempted all 3 methods of associating the license with the installed software listed on the page. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the software, followed the troubleshooting steps listed on the aforementioned page, and confirmed that the Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi address of my machine matches the address in the license file provided by Altair and the address recognized in the Altair License Utility software.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you all for your help!

Hi,

Can you once check whether the Ethernet ID of your machine matches the Ethernet ID in the license file? Or else can you run ipconfig/all in the command window and send the output here?

I attempted licensing with both the Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi Address and the Bluetooth Ethernet address and both resulted in the same errors detailed in my original post. The address in each of the license files are shown below:

Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi License Address: ETHERNET = DCFB481D3792

Bluetooth Ethernet License Address: ETHERNET = DCFB481D3796

These are also the addresses for the machine recognized by the Altair License Utility as shown below:

I attempted to do another clean installation of FEKO Student Edition with my original Wireless LAN WiFi address license file and it worked this time. It appears that my prior installations were installing the full version of FEKO 2022.2 even though I was using the student edition links provided by Altair over email.

I am not completely sure what the cause of this error was during my previous install attempts, but the issue appears to be resolved now and I am able to run and license FEKO. If you are experiencing the same issue, I would suggest the following steps as these are the steps I took during troubleshooting:

Check your ethernet and/or Wireless LAN Adapter WiFi address and the address in your license file again just to make sure, as suggested by Payal above
Verify that you have installed the Student Edition of the software. If the installation was performed to the default folder (if you didn't specify a different folder to install to), you can verify this by checking that the software was installed to "C:\Program Files\Altair\2022-edu"
Uninstall FEKO and all other Altair software components. Delete the license environment variable (if you created one), and delete the start menu folder if it was not removed by the software uninstalls
Reinstall FEKO via the links provided in your original email from Altair. Verify that the installer file has "edu" in the filename and Student Edition is specified in the installer GUI when it is run. If it is this is not the case, exit the installer, delete it and re-download it from the Altair email.
If this does not work, repeat steps 3 and 4. When attempting another installation of FEKO, try running the installer without changing any of the default settings (do not change anything outside of accepting the necessary agreements)
