Altair Monarch License Server Install Error -2147023293 Has Occurred in the Package

Condition: 


The following error during installation of the License Server is received: 
"Error -2147023293 has occurred in the package LicenseServer_x64 Do you want to retry"

  

Cause: 


“Create Firewall Exception” is checked in the install Database Settings screen and the Windows Firewall service has not been started preventing the installer from creating a firewall exception.

Remedy: 

  • If you intend to use the Windows firewall service, start the firewall service and re-run the installation. If you are using a third-party firewall, you can uncheck the checkbox  “Create Firewall Exception”, and manually configure the firewall exception settings.

NOTE: Select and open the port in Windows Firewall that will be used by Altair Monarch License Server so that clients can access it. By default, port 51515 is used. The installation program can perform this configuration step for Windows Firewall when the Create Firewall Exception check box is selected, but not for third-party firewalls.
