Overview

Latch mechanism is an electromechanical assembly present in doors in general, including in cars, houses, aircraft, and others.

  • The one presented here is based on a ratchet mechanism, allowing motion in only one direction caused by an axis torque.
  • The aim of this analysis is evaluating two different electrical motors triggered by a remote key that provides a voltage to open the latch mechanism.

This model demonstrates the following concepts:

  • How to model a Latch mechanism using Inspire Motion.
  • How to model an electrical circuit using Block diagram using Activate.
  • How to integrate the electrical system through the mechanical utilizing a Closed Loop using Activate.
  • How to run a co-simulation between MotionSolve and Activate.
