EDEMpy script that computes particle velocity and path length relative to a rotating geometry

Overview

The attached script computes the particle velocity relative to a rotating geometry in EDEM and writes the results into particle properties called Relative velocity and Relative path length. Example results for the generic bin blender model included with the script are shown below. 

 

 

Pre-Requisite

EDEM 2022.3 and EDEMPy 1.2.0

Usage/Installation Instructions

1. Place the script into the same folder as the target EDEM deck

2. Specify target EDEM deck name and rotating EDEM geometry name in the script

3. Execute script from the EDEM Analyst -> File ->Run EDEMpy Script making sure that the target EDEM deck is not opened so that the script can write in the custom property data (can use empty EDEM session to execute the script).

4. Analyze the results in the EDEM Analyst as usual
