The Ethernet ID is the ID of your machine which is exactly 12 hexadecimal numbers. For example D4ABC478E398.

To get your Ethernet ID on Windows, run ipconfig/all in a Command Prompt window.

The listed physical address under Ethernet adapter Ethernet local area connection should be used to generate the license file, if there is no listing of Ethernet adapter local area connection, the address under Wireless LAN Adapter Wifi must be used.

If there is an error despite following all the steps below, the address under Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi must be used to request another license file and this should be used

Steps in Detail -

The host ID is the Physical Address (or MAC address) of the main network adapter.

Step 1:

Open a Command Prompt window on your Windows PC by typing “cmd” (without the parentheses) in the search line at the bottom left of your screen, and pressing <ENTER>.

The Command Prompt window will look like this:

Step 2:

Type ipconfig/all at the command prompt and press <ENTER>.

Depending on your, computer, you will get a list of network hardware information that looks something like the images shown below.

If your command prompt window is small, you will need to scroll up to see all the information. Look for the heading: Ethernet adapter Ethernet. The Physical Address listed under this heading should be your hostid.

If you do not see a listing like above, a sure-fire way is to use the address under Wireless Adapter LAN Wifi

Alternatively, if the above is not possible

Enter getmac /v and press <ENTER>.

This should return a shorter list of hardware information. The 12-digit code on the Ethernet line should be your hostid. See below.
