What I’m trying to do ?

How to simulate the change in motorcycle dynamics due to effect of the rider weight ?

I want to calculate the change in cg height due to rider and pillion weight.

Things I have tried

Iteration 1

Currently, I have applied force ( magnitude equals to rider and pillion weight)  on the panel at the rider and pillion location. I have used fixed joint instead of revolute joint for steering to lock the rotation of the handlebar. I'm running static analysis for this purpose. In this first iteration, the shock spring is being extended instead of being compressed. This can be thought of as the wheel is going inside the road.

Iteration 2

I used fixed joint for both front and rear wheel (fixed with the ground body at the wheel center). There is no change in the geometry.

So, What am I doing wrong? How should I proceed to correctly simulate the effect of rider weight ?

PS: I'm using AutoRider for simulating driver event. For the above mentioned purpose, I've deactivated the AutoRider. Thankyou.

    Hi Aditya,

You do not need to use static analysis for this. You can run any event for example 'constant radius' and the value of cg height at time = 0 shows the static equilibrium condition. This is what you are looking for.

Most of the events starts with static simulations to calculate some parameters. First one is to check static equilibrium. Steering, wheel etc. are locked during static simulation automatically by driver.

    Best Regards,

Thank you Sonu Ji. You're helpful as always. ❤️

I would try to clear my questions a bit more.

I want to track the actual cg height of the bike after compression of the suspension (due to rider weight ).

And I followed these steps. Please guide me if I'm wrong.

    1. At first, I created the CG point ( considering the weight of both vehicle and rider) in static condition. Here the compression of the suspension is not considered.
    2. I created the dummy body at cg point and tracked the CG height using output request.

Should I consider rider weight in step 1 or not?

Do the CG at time = 0 considers the compression of suspension (due to rider weight) ?
