Tabulated tensile and compressive test data at different strain rates (compatible material card, Radioss)

Hello,

I currently have stress-strain data for a certain material under tensile and compressive loading at different strain rates. It seems as though Radioss MAT LAW36 and MAT LAW60 can handle tabulated data at different strain rates but do not distinguish between tensile and compressive loading* and MAT LAW69 can handle tensile and compressive data but not at different strain rates.

Is there a way to input obtained tension and compression stress-strain test data at different strain rates (using any of the mentioned material laws or another)?

Thank you in advance for your help and suggestions.

*I understand there is a fct_IDp for a pressure vs yield factor function which can help me distinguish between tensile and compressive but, as I understand it from the Reference Guide [1], it only modifies the yield stress and I'm not sure how I could take my distinct tensile and compression stress-strain data curves and create a fct_IDp to have it reflect the differences beyond the yield stress. I have also tried input negative strain rates (assuming negative to be compressive) into the MAT LAW60 card while in HyperMesh but was passed the error that the strain rate must be >=0 [1/s].

[1] From the Radioss Reference Guide, 2020: fct_IDp is used to distinguish the behavior in tension and compression for certain materials (i.e. pressure-dependent yield). This is available for solid elements only. The effective yield stress is then obtained by multiplying the nominal yield stress by the yield factor corresponding to the actual pressure.

/MAT/LAW76 (SAMP) is the only one I can think of that may serve your purpose?

    Hi Paul,

Thank you for this suggestion! It does seem to be what I am looking for!
