Optistruct user defined material subroutine (MATUSHT)
Hey there,
I am trying to thermally model and analyze a composite structure with temperature dependent thermal parameters (k, CTE) in x, y, z direction in Hypermesh and Optistruct. I was planning to develop a 3D model using MAT9OR or MAT9 material cards (for composite structures) and combine it with MAT4+MATT4 (for temperature dependent thermal parameters). The problem is that MATT4 can only specify temperature dependence in one direction, not in all three (you can only define one curve per parameter in a MATT4 entry, not three). What I would need is a MATT5 card, which is not available yet.
My next idea is to write a MATUSHT subroutine. For a Hypermesh beginner, who has no experience with writing subroutines in FORTRAN, it is quite hard to find a starting point. Therefore my question: Does anyone have experience with writing such a thermal- material subroutine and can help me to get started?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Isabelle

Hi @Isabelle
Here are some links from Altair's documentation about using subroutines with OptiStruct. Not all of them are related to thermal properties, but they can help you get started with subroutines.
