I'm doing a direct transient analysis , in the load step there are 2 options like TSTEP AND TSTEP(time) , I'm unable to find the difference between both. So I want what is the exact difference between both and when to use which.

    Hi Shiva,

You can use TSTEP for Direct and Modal Transient analysis and TSTEP(Time) for Transient Thermal analysis.

    Thanks

    Hi rajashri,

Can you explain the reasoning behind this , because both options seems to do the same work .If you could elaborate it will help me.

    Thank you.

    Hi Shiva,

In Thermal transient load is due to Temp or Flux and in Modal Transient there is Displacement, velocity, acceleration, force etc involved for loading. that is why two different cards used for set up.

    Thanks
