ERPPNL input entity

Dear Community! I use solid element sets as input entity for ERPPNL and the solver automatically detects outer side of the elements and calculating surface normal velocity for that, which is usually working fine, but some times I'm facing a high sensitivity of the orientation of the solid element for the calculated surface normal velocities (for example if I have a flat surface with a structured mesh but there is a line of elements those a bit different, and the results are not continues there). I'm not fully okay whit this automatic detection and normal direction calculation.

Is there other possibility to define the set for ERPPNL than solid element sets? Can I define surface set for solid bodies and use in the ERPPNL?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Horvat,

You can also try extracting the surface of the solid part as shell elements, and specifying a thickness of 0.001mm  for the shell. Then define these shells elements as a set for ERP panel.

Hope it doesn't increase the solution time a lot.

    Thanks.
