How to export files from Simlab for use on Optistruct?

Hi all,

I am doing meshing for the model. However, I found that creating mesh on Optistruct gives worse results than creating mesh on Simlab . So if I perform meshing on Simlab, how can I export a file containing mesh information to optistruct for use (conditions, materials, .. I want to do it on Optistruct).

Hello,

before starting with the Setup, please define a Solution for Optistruct from the solution Menu:

The solution will be shown in your Solution Browser.

Once you defined all needed settings and LBCs, right click on the solution name to export it as an Input File *.fem:

I did the same as you instructed. After exporting the file from simlab, I proceeded to import the file into optistruct to create contact, However, the contact creation is very long (red circled area in the image). So what error am I facing? Thank you.

Hello, I would rather post this question in the Hyperworks forum, you would get surely better answers there. Anyway SimLab has also the possibility of creating easily contacts, you can try it as well before exporting.
