HyperWorks Checksum

If Altair Student Edition is not working properly, kindly read the following instructions:

It is possible that the executable/s was corrupted on download and hence you will need to completely uninstall the software and redownload the executables. It is important to first try deleting the downloaded file and downloading it again.

If you still face issues, to make sure the file is not damaged on download, run an md5 checksum on the downloaded file (just google md5 checksum):

Double click / run the Winmd5 checksum executable (download win md5 a freeware from the internet, please note we cannot be responsible for external content and info)
Select the executable by clicking on the browse button or drag and drop the file into the window
After running the MD5 checksum in your computer, kindly see if your MD5 checksum value matches the one provided by us, request us for the checksum value if you have doubts that your download is corrupted.

The command is Get-FileHash "your_file.exe" -Algorithm MD5

I have the same problem (HyperWorks Student Edition is not working properly) and the checksum doesn't coincide with the one you proposed: 77e844dd7d2a5406ed85a3883e0ef383. Actually it's completely different: f201f1142e9033a191ebeda0341c951d.

So, what should I do then?

Checksum is a verification code. Each file has its own returned value.

If you have downloaded a file and it was expected to find a code and you have found a different one, then your installation file is probably corrupted. If that's the case, you will need to download it again an test it, to make sure the checksum matches the expected code.

That's why all the softwares have the checksum code close to the installation download, so that you can always check your downloaded file.
