Tie Contact DOF
I have two plates with a tie contact. I wanted to have sliding between both plates without making a nonlinear analysis
I saw that Tie contacts have the field DOF. Does the purple plate is going to slide in the x direction if I put DOF: 23? I was wondering if the DOF field restrict the movement of the nodes, and if you delete the number 1 in the DOF field, the plate now is now allowed to move in the x direction

It's possible to modify the DOFs only for MPC ties.
Add CONTPRM, TIE, MPC, and then you can define DOF23456.

additionally, you may want to take a look at Contact SLIDE, as it works the same way in linear analysis, by keeping frictionless sliding in the contact plane, and no opening/separation in the normal direction.
