can it simulate regenerative braking on a DC motor in PSIM?

    just my 2 cents, I guess the simplest model for DC motor is iLdi/dt + R*i + backemf.
    L & R do not change from motor accelerates till decelerates. The bemf.
    you may model the bemf voltage according to the speed profile of the motor.

    During deceleration, the bemf pumps back current to your cap bank at the DC link.

    Hi Fathur,

    The PSIM model can handle regenerative braking on a DC motor as all the models are 4 quadrant.

    Hi…I normally hear that regen gives about a 10% expansion in range, clearly that will fluctuate with city/interstate driving yet 10% is the number that is constantly tossed around. Furthermore, I believe that the prius regen returned about 30%, so you would get 60A back. These aren't strong numbers from studies or anything, exactly what the vast majority say when talking regen
