hello,

         I'm working on human body. i have a bone only model. is there any option in hypermesh optistruct to model the muscle just to give mass and properties.i don't need exact shape of the muscle.just a few layers of elements attaching to the bone.

    Hi @jahnavi

    Since you don't need exact shape, will a point mass (CONMASS) element helps?

    @jahnavi

    Right now this is one of the options. I need to check if there is any alternative method to create.

    But you can create a layer in any CAD tool and bring the same into HM.

    @jahnavi

    CMASS1 is a scalar mass connection where as CONM2 is  concentrated mass in rigid form.

    Scalar mass elements are useful for representation of inertia properties

    Hi Prakash,

    Is it possible to create Cmass elements on the grid points(nodes) of shell element as the same way in CONM2.

    By doing so. I got an error

    *** ERROR # 1243 ***
      Duplicate ID 58391 in SPOINT data.

    Where as its working fine with concentrated (CONM2) mass.

    How to define scalar point( SPOINT)

    To include the the effect of inertia... scalar mass is sufficient in model or should i call upon any special cards ?
